Las paredes redondas.



Como ya he comentado en otras ocasiones, las calles del Barrio de Santa Cruz son muy estrechas. En la mayoría de ellas no pueden penetrar los vehículos.
Pero eso no siempre ha sido así. Hasta la aparición de los vehículos a motor, esas calles eran utilizadas por pequeños carros con tracción animal, especialmente caballos.
Como las calles eran estrechas, las ruedas de estos carros rozaban las paredes dañando sus partes más bajas.
Para evitar estos daños, los dueños de las casas introdujeron en dichas paredes ruedas de piedra maciza como podemos ver en la fotografía. Así el roce de un coche de caballos no producía ningún daño.

Since already I have commented in other occasions, the streets of the Neighborhood of Santa Cruz are very narrow. In most of them the vehicles can not penetrate in it.
But it not always has been like that. Untill the appearance of the vehicles to engine, these streets were used by small cars by animal traction, specially horses.
Like the streets were narrow, the wheels of these cars were rubbing the walls damaging the lower parts.
To avoid these damages, the owners of the houses introduced in the above mentioned walls wheels of massive stone like we can see in the photography. This way the fret of a car of horses was not producing any damage.
