A la luz de la luna.

Desde las terrazas del edificio Metropol Parasol podemos ver esta hermosa vista al anochecer.
En primer lugar la cúpula de la Iglesia de la Anunciación situada a pocos metros del edificio. Más atrás, la Iglesia del Salvador y el conjunto catedralicio donde sobresale la figura espigada de la Giralda.

From the terraces of the Metropol Parasol building we can see this beautiful sight in the night.
First the dome of the Church of the Annunciation placed to few meters of the building. More behind, the Church of the Salvador and the cathedral set where the ripe figure of the Giralda stands out.

La Santa Mujer Verónica.

Una de las Cofradías más importantes de nuestra Semana Santa es la "Pontificia Real y Primitiva Archicofradía de Nazarenos del Santísimo Cristo de la Coronación de Espinas, Nuestro Padre Jesús con la Cruz al Hombro, Nuestra Señora del Valle y Santa Mujer Verónica".
Procesiona con tres pasos con imágenes religiosas.
El segundo de ellos incorpora la imagen de la "Santa Mujer Verónica". Según los Evangelios, la Santa Mujer Verónica limpia el rostro de Cristo con un paño y, sobre éste, se queda reflejado la imagen de Jesús.
Esta imagen de la Verónica podemos verla en la Iglesia de la Anunciación durante todo el año. Pero tiene una curiosidad que atrae la mirada anual de los sevillanos.
El paño donde se refleja el rostro de Cristo se rehace y se estrena cada año, siendo ejecutado estos diseños anuales por afamados artistas sevillanos.

One of the most important fraternities in the Seville´s Holy Week is the "Pontific Royall and Nazarenes' Primitive Privileged brotherhood of the Holiest Christ of the Crown of Thorns, Our Father Jesus with the Cross to the Shoulder, Our Lady of the Valley and the Holy Woman Verónica ".
They has an sculpture of the Veronica who has in her hands a cloth with the image of Christ reflected.
This cloth is changed every year for the new Holy Week an each one is designed by a important sevillian artist.

Bullicio en las iglesias.

En Navidad es normal el bullicio en las calles. Las compras, las visitas a familiares, un café con un amigo, cualquier excusa es buen para salir a la calle. Pero Sevilla tiene otras atracciones. Las iglesias de Sevilla, conventos y otros lugares santos se llena de vida en esta época. Los belenes tienen mucha culpa de ello.
Lo podemos ver en esta foto. La Iglesia de la Anunciación abierta de par en par y los fieles visitando el Portal de Belén instalado en su altar.

In Christmas time, the hustle is normal in the streets. The purchases, the visits to relatives people, a coffee with a friend, some excuses is good to go out to the street. But Seville has anothers attractions. The churches of Seville, convents and other holy places have a lot of life in this epoch. Specially by the Bethlehem scenes.
We can see it in this photo. The Church of the Annunciation opened widely and the public visiting the Bethlehem saint house installed in its altar.

El Cristo de la Buena Muerte sobre las paredes de la Iglesia de la Anunciación.

La Plaza de la Encarnación es, desde hace algunas semanas, peatonal. Sus amplios espacios abiertos nos permiten dsifrutar de este azulejo que antes estaba tapado por las paradas de los autobuses, justo en el lateral de la pared de la Iglesia de la Anunciación.
En este retablo cerámico se representa al Cristo de la buena Muerte, titular de la Hermandad de los Estudiantes. El conjunto mide seis metros de alto y tres de ancho. Los autores del proyecto fueron Francisco Collantes de Terán Delorme, Antonio Delgado Roig y Alberto Balbontín de Orta.
Se realizó en Cerámica Santa Ana, bendiciéndose el 25 de octubre de 1953.
El hecho de que se colocara aquí este retablo es porque en esta iglesia fue donde se fundó la Hermandad anteriormente citada.

The Encarnacion Square is, for some weeks, pedestrian. It´s wide opened spaces allow us to enjoy of this blue roller that before was covered by the stops of the buses, just in the wings of the wall of the Church of the Annunciation.
