El 21 de Julio de 2009 fue inaugurado, en la Alameda de Hércules, el monumento que ustedes ven en la foto en el que se refleja la figura de uno de los grandes toreros de la escuela sevillana de tauromaquia.
Se trata de Manuel Jiménez Moreno, conocido en el mundo taurino como "Chicuelo".
Es el precursor de la escuela sevillana, un toreo ejecutado con naturalidad y gracia, no exento de profundidad. Su toreo era armonioso, con los pies juntos, bajando la mano en la muleta, y engarzando varios naturales.
Introdujo la llamada chicuelina, el pase del costadillo y el delantal. Fue genial con el capote. Finura, ligazón, gracia, excelsa pureza eran las palabras que definían su torero.
Como persona, dicen que era cordial, modesto y prudente. Fue líder del escalafón de toreros en los años 20 del siglo pasado. Murió en 1967 a los 65 años de edad.
El monumento fue realizado por el artista Alberto Germán Franco en su talles de Aracena y fue fundido en bronce en la localidad de Torrejón de Ardoz.
La estatua de tres metros de altura representa a Chicuelo esbozando uno de sus lances de capote más populares de su tauromaquia, 'la chicuelina', y entre la base de la estatua y el pedestal están esculpidos otros pases característicos del matador y algunas escenas y lugares ligados a la vida del torero como la plaza de la Maestranza, el puente de Triana o la Alameda de Hércules, donde se crió.

He is the predecessor of the Sevillian bullfighting school, a bullfighting executed with naturalness and grace, and not exempt of depth. His bullfighting was harmonious, with the united feet, lowering the hand in the crutch, and connecting several natives with thw cape.
He introduced the "chicuelina", the pass in the side lateral part and the apron. He was brilliant with the cape. Delicacy, attachment, grace, lofty purity were the words that define to this bullfighter.
As person, people say that he was cordial, modest and prudent. He was a leader of the bullfighters' army register in the 20s of last century. He died in 1967 to 65 years old.
The monument was realized by the artist Alberto Germán Franco in his Aracena's studio and was fused in bronze in Torrejón de Ardoz.
The statue with three meters of height represents to Chicuelo doing one of his more popular throws of cape of his bullfighting, "the chicuelina", and between the base of the statue and the pedestal are esculpt other passes typical of the bullfighter and some scenes and places of the life of the bullfighter as the square of the Maestranza Bullring, Triana's bridge or Hercules' Avenue, where he grew up.
