Como cada 30 de Enero, todos recordamos este luctuoso hecho del recién estrenado año 1998. En la calle Don Remondo, justo en el lugar en que ocurrieron los hechos, podemos leer esta placa en su memoria.
El texto dice así:
"En este lugar, el día 30 de enero de 1998, murieron asesinados en atentado terrorista, el Teniente de Alcalde del Ayuntamiento de Sevilla D. Alberto Jiménez-Becerril Barrio y su esposa Dña. Ascensión García Ortiz. La Corporación Municipal, que tanto dolor ha sentido, desea que la ciudad guarde en la memoria el recuerdo de estos dos sevillanos ejemplares, servidores y buenos vecinos. Y que la paz y la no violencia vivan en nuestro pueblo."

As each January 30, all the people remember this mournful fact in newly released year 1998. In the Don Remondo Street, just in the place in which the facts happened, we can read this marble plate in their memory.
The text is this:
"In this place, January 30, 1998, they died murdered in terrorist attack, the Lieutenant of Mayor of the Town hall of Seville Mr. Alberto Jiménez-Becerril Barrio and his wife Miss. Ascension García Ortiz. The Municipal Corporation, which so much pain has felt, wishes that the city guards in the memory the recollection of these two model Sevillian, servants and good neighbors. And that the peace and not violence live in our people."
