Cortina de perlas negras.

En el día de ayer hablamos de la Capilla de Santa Justa y Rufina que está situada en la huerta interior del Monasterio de la Cartuja. En el interior de la misma hay una decoración especial realizada por el artista alemán Olaf Nicolai. Esta es la historia.
Olaf Nicolai participó en la primera edición de la BIACS (Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo) en el año 2004. El autor, tras visitar el monasterio eligió personalmente este emplazamiento para desarrollar su obra in situ.

Diseñó "Black Pearls Curtain" ("Cortina con perlas negras"), un decorado que divide el espacio y un objeto que regula sutílmente tanto el acceso al interior como las miradas.
La cortina de perlas negras es ambas cosas a la vez.
Los elementos elegidos por el artista son perlas de plástico de color negro sostenidas por hilos de algodón.

The black pearls curtain is both things simultaneously. The elements chosen by the artist are plastic black pearls supported by cotton yarns.
