El puente de Santiago Calatrava.

En el post de ayer, "GreensboroDailyPhoto" nos pedía algunas fotos de puentes de Sevilla. Hoy os presento a uno de los más modernos ( si no el que más) de nuestra ciudad: el Puente del Alamillo.
Recibe este nombre porque está situado junto al parque que lleva el mismo nombre.
Este puente presenta una curiosidad. Muchos no saben que el Río Guadalquivir tiene dos brazos de agua, uno el que atraviesa la ciudad y otro hacia el oeste, ya en las afueras.
Pues bien, Santiago Calatrava diseño un puente doble, a pocos metros uno del otro, donde el diseño del puente fuese el mismo pero con los elementos de sustentación invertidos rspecto al del otro.
Desgraciadamente, el presupuesto sólo dio para construir uno sólo de los puentes.

In the yesterday post, "GreensboroDailyPhoto" was asking us for some photos of bridges of Seville. Today I show one of the most modern (if not is the most in fact) of our city: the Bridge of the Alamillo.
It receives this name because it is placed next to the park that takes the same name.
This bridge presents a curiosity. Many people do not know that the Guadalquivir has two water arms, one that crosses the city and other one towards the west, already in the suburbs.
Well then, Santiago Calatrava designed a double bridge, to few meters one of other, where the design of the bridge was the same but with the reversed elements for sustentation from one to the other. Unfortunately, the budget only gave to construct just one of the bridges.
