"Under the Moon", la escultura de Barbara Weil.

La historia de este proyecto, ya finalizado, comienza en la Expo 92.

Doce países de las naciones que por aquel entonces conformaban la UE donan doce esculturas modernas para una exposición. 

Al término de la muestra, Gran Bretaña, Holanda, Grecia y Alemania se llevaron las obras que habían aportado, pero permanecieron en Sevilla las demás, que ahora se han remozado y que adornan la pradera de la Cartuja, en las inmediaciones del Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo.

Entre ellas hubo dos que no pertenecieron a esta exposición europea y que posteriormente fueron añadidas a la misma, una de ellas es esta de la escultora estadounidense Barbara Weil que perteneció al Pabellón de EEUU durante la muestra, una escultura de chapa de hierro recortada y pintada con colores muy vivos.

Su título es "Under the Moon", "Bajo la Luna" y representa a una pareja abraza besándose.

The history of this project, already finished, begins in the Expo 92. 

Twelve countries of the nations that in those days were shaping the EU donate twelve modern sculptures for an exhibition in the 1992 Universal Exhibition. 

At the conclusion of this time, Great Britain, Holland, Greece and Germany took their art works, but others remained in Seville, that now have been restored and adorn the meadow of the Carthusian graden, in the surrounding areas of the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art.

Between them, there were two that did not belong to this European exhibition and that later were added to the same one.

One of them is this of the American sculptress Barbara Weil who belonged to the Pavilion of the USA during the exhibition, a sculpture of cut sheet of iron painted with very alive colors. 

Its title is " Under the Moon " and represents a man and a woman kissing themselves.
