El retablo del Cachoro.

A la izquierda de la puerta principal de la Iglesia del Santísimo Cristo de la Expiración, más conocida como la Iglesia del Cachorro, podemos ver este hermoso retablo cerámico con la imagen del propio Cristo a punto de expirar.
En una web de prestigio sobre retablos cerámicos se cuenta la historia de esta obra artística. En ella se dice lo siguiente:
"El profesor Jesús Palomero Páramo en su obra "Ciudad de Retablos" afirma que es de Manuel Arellano Campos en la fábrica de la Vda. de Gómez hacia 1900. El historiador cofrade Juan Carrero en sus "Anales de las cofradías sevillanas" afirma que es de Antonio Kiernam Flores en 1923, y Manuel Macías Míguez, autor del libro sobre la Historia de la Hermandad de la Expiración, recoge que en el mes de octubre de 1923 queda constancia en los archivos de la Hermandad del agradecimiento a los Sres. Gómez Millán por la colocación en la fachada del cuadro de azulejos.
Todo parece indicar que el retablo fue pintado a principios de siglo XX para un particular, que a principios de los años 1920 lo donó a la Hermandad para que lo colocara en la fachada de su Capilla en 1923.
Al levantarse el nuevo templo a partir de 1947 sobre terrenos anexos a la antigua Capilla, el retablo fue desmontado de su ubicación original y trasladado a la fachada lateral de la nueva iglesia, que fue bendecida en 1960."
El retablo mide 1,8 m. de alto por 1,2 m. de ancho.

To the left of the door of the Church of the Holiest Christ de la Expiration, more known as the Church of the Puppy, we can see this beautiful ceramic altarpiece with the image of the own Christ on the verge of expiring.
In a prestigious web about ceramic altarpieces we can read the history of this artistic work. In her the following thing is said:
"The teacher Jesus Palomero Páramo in his work "City of Altarpieces" affirms that it belongs to Manuel Arellano Campos in the factory of the Widow of Gómez about 1900. 
The historian confrere Juan Carrero in his "Annals of the Sevillian confraternities" affirms that it belongs to Antonio Kiernam Flores in 1923, and Manuel Macías Míguez, author of the book on the History of the Brotherhood of the Expiration, gathers that, in October, 1923, there is in the files of the Brotherhood the gratefulness to the Mr. Gómez Millán for the placement in the front of the picture of the ceramic altarpiece.
Everything seems to indicate that the altarpiece was painted at the beginning of 20th century for an individual person, what at the beginning of the year 1920 was donated it to the Brotherhood in order that it was placed in the front door of his Chapel in 1923. 
On the new temple the altarpiece was dismantled of its location original and moved to the lateral front of the new church."
The altarpiece measures 1,8 m. high and 1,2 m. width.
