Reyes y Santos.

Sobre la fachada plateresca de nuestro Ayuntamiento podemos ver a los tres personajes históricos que aparecen en el escudo de la ciudad.

En el centro al Rey Fernando III de Castilla, más conocido por los sevillanos como el Rey San Fernando, cuya festividad la celebramos el 30 de Mayo.

A ambos lados tenemos a dos santos, San Isidoro y San Leandro.

San Isidoro, conocido popularmente como San isidoro de Sevilla nació en Cartagena y murió en nuestra ciudad el 4 de Abril del año 646. Fue un eclesiástico católico y erudito hispanorromano de la época visigoda. Fue Arzobispo de Sevilla durante más de tres décadas (599-636) y canonizado por la Iglesia católica.

San Leandro fue un clérigo católico nacido de una notable familia hispanorromana. Su padre era hispanorromano y su madre visigoda. Es reconocido porque fue el que consiguió que se convirtieran al catolicismo las tribus visigodas que invadieron España y que su rey se transformara en fervoroso creyente. San Leandro falleció a finales del siglo, en el 596 en Sevilla. Sevilla lo ha considerado siempre como un gran benefactor y es reconocido como Doctor de la Iglesia.

On the plateresca (spanish gothic) wall of our Town hall we can see three historical prominent figures who appear in the shield of the city.

In the center to the King Fernando III of Castile, more known by the Sevillian people like the King Saint Fernando, we celebrate his festivity on May 30.

To both sides we have two saints, Saint Isidoro y Saint Leandro.

Saint Isidoro, known popularly as Saint Isidoro of Seville was born in Cartagena and died in our city on April 4 in the year 646. He was a catholic ecclesiastic and scholar hispanic-roman of the visigothic time. He was an Archbishop of Seville during more than three decades (599-636) and canonized by the catholic Church.

Saint Leandro was a catholic clergyman born in a notable family hispanic-roman. His father was hispanic-roman and his mother was visigothic. HE is recognized because was who achieved that the visigothic tribes that they invaded Spain were turning to the catholicism and that his king should transform in fervent believer.

Saint Leandro died at the end of the century, in 596 in Seville. Seville has considered him always like a great benefactor and he is recognized like Doctor of the Church.
