Cruceros en la Feria.

Es típico que, durante la Feria, esté anclado en el Puerto de Sevilla algún buque de cruceros.
Esta año ha sido el Ocean Majesty, quien ha permitido a sus pasajeros pasar la Feria como en un hotel a escasos quinientos metros del recinto ferial.

It is typical that, during the Fair, is anchored in the Port of Seville some ship of cruises.This year has been the Ocean Majesty, who has allowed to its passengers to pass the Fair like in a hotel to scanty five hundred meters of the fairground enclosure.

El traje de Flamenca.

Las mujeres son las reinas de la fiesta. La Feria sin el colorido y la alegría que dan los trajes de flamenca no sería la misma.

El traje de flamenca es el traje típico sevillano para la mujer. Las modas actuales permiten cualquier tipo de diseño, tanto en colores como en telas, pero el típico traje, el de siempre, es de un sólo color con lunares en otro tono.

Se adornan con pulseras, collares y pendientes a juego con el traje. El detalle final lo da la flor prendida al pelo, con o sin peineta, para señalar aún más la elegancia de la mujer sevillana.

The women are the queens of the Fair. The Fair without the color and the happiness that Fleming's suits give would not be the same.Fleming's suit is the typical Sevillian suit for the women. El Circo.

En toda Feria de Sevilla tiene que haber un circo. Este año hemos disfrutado del "Circo Mundial". Es una visita obligada para quienes tenemos niños pequeños. Ellos disfrutan con todos los espectáculos, pero los mayores, también.
El programa de este año era muy completo: tigres y leones, incluido el león blanco; los payasos Lalo y Caletto; Miss Aurori y sus caballos y elefantes; Los Tonito, trapecistas volantes; el Duo Engel, trapecistas; el Duo Sidelnikoff, también trapecistas; los Medina y sus motos; un espectáculo de caballos y ponys; los osos amaestrados; y la gran sensación de este año, Laura Miller, una acróbata, ligerita de ropa, que domina el aire y el agua.

In any Fair of Seville there has to be a circus. This year we have enjoyed the " World Circus ". It is a forced visit for whom we have small children. They enjoy all the spectacles, but the major ones, also.
The program of this year was very complete: tigers and lions, included the white lion; the clowns Lalo and Caletto; Miss Aurori and her horses and elephants; The Tonito, flying trapeze artists; the Duo Engel, trapeze artists; the Duo Sidelnikoff, also trapeze artists; the Medina Brothres and their motorcycles; a spectacle of horses and ponies; the instructed bears; and the great sensation of this year, Laura Miller, an acrobat that dominates the air and the water.

El Paseo de Caballos.

El paseo de caballos es uno de los espectáculos clásicos de la Feria de Sevilla. A la belleza del animal hay que unirle el colorido que le dan los caballeros, con sus vestimentas apropiadas (o sea, "de traje corto") y las mujeres con sus trajes de flamenca.
El mundo del caballo en la Feria es muy particular y está regido por unas reglas muy estrictas. Principalmente porque, año tras año, el número de animales se ha ido incrementando exponencialmente provocando problemas de tráfico importantes dentro del recinto ferial.
El horario de permanencia dentro de la Feria con caballos es de 12 de la mañana a 8 de la tarde.

Las casetas de la Feria.

La "Caseta" es el lugar de reunión por excelencia en la feria.
Las casetas pueden ser públicas, donde el acceso es libre, o privadas, donde sólo pueden acceder los socios de la caseta, su familias y sus amistades. Es el sitio donde puedes comer, beber, bailar o charlar con tus amigos en un ambiente casi familiar.

Están construidas sobre unas estructuras metálicas cubiertas, como dicen las sevillanas de Cantores de Híspalis, por cuatro lonas estirás, de colores rojo y blanco o verde y blanco.

No todo el mundo puede montar una caseta en la feria. Esto se consigue mediante concesión administrativa del Ayuntamiento. Esta concesión permite, año tras año, montar la caseta en el mismo sitio. El "Real de la Feria", que es como se le llama a lugar donde ésta está ubicada, es limitado en suelo. Por esta razón, muchos que tienen solicitado montar su caseta no pueden hacerlo hasta que haya alguna vacante.

The "Caseta" (shed) is the place of meeting in the fair. The sheds can be public, where the access is free, or private, where only the associates of the shed can accede inside, his families and his friendship. It is the place where you can eat, drink, dance or talk with your friends in an almost familiar environment. They are constructed on a few metallic structures covered by a canvas of colors red and white or green and white.
Not everybody can get the place for a shed. It is obtained by means of administrative grant of the Town hall. This grant allows, year after year, to put the shed in the same place at the Fair. The "Real de la Feria" (Fairground), like is called the place where this one is located, is limited in meters. For this reason, many people that have requested to mount his shed cannot do it until beech some vacancy.

La Portada de la Feria.

Hace unos días dijimos que la Semana Santa era la semana grande de Sevilla. Pero la Feria no se queda atrás en importancia.
La Feria de Sevilla es una fiesta donde reina el color, la alegría, la música, la amistad y la diversión. La foto que os traigo hoy es la llamada "Portada". La Portada es una gran obra de ingeniería que, casi siempre, refleja la imagen de un edificio de la ciudad o hace honor a algún acontecimiento histórico. La Portada es efímera y todos los años cambia.

A few days ago we said that the Holy Week was the big week of Seville. But the Fair does not remain behind in importance.
The Fair of Seville is a holiday where the kings are the color, the happiness, the music, the friendship and the amusement.
The photo that I show today is the so called "Portada" (Big front door). This is a great engineering work that, almost always, reflects the image of a building of the city or does honor to some historical event. The Portada is ephemeral and is changed every year.
