The Seville´sTabacos Factory (current University) was constructed outside the city, out of the walls of the city. The walls were running approximately for the center of the current San Fernando street.
Close to the walls the small river Tagarete had its way. To few meters it decided to build this great building to work in a new industrial activity, the manufacture of powder of tobacco in the style like it was done in America.
This buildins had a peculiarity in the design. In it, three important engineers took part: Ignacio Sala, Diego Bordick and Sebastian Van der Borcht. All of them with a particularity: they were military men.
Because of it and for having the peace inside the building, in the wall that surrounds it we can see these sentries' booths in the style of the 18th century.
