La entrada al Palacio de San Telmo.

El Palacio de San Telmo es uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de la arquitectura barroca sevillana. Presenta planta rectangular con varios patios interiores, uno de ellos central, torres en las cuatro esquinas, capilla y jardines.
En su fachada principal destaca la magnífica portada de estilo barroco, cuyo coste fue de 50.000 pesos. En ella, enmarcada por columnas con motivos figurativos y geométricos, se observa en su parte superior la figura de San Telmo, patrón de los navegantes, flanqueado por los patronos de la ciudad: San Fernando y San Hermenegildo.
Algo más abajo aparecen doce figuras de mujeres: seis a cada lado, que simbolizan las asignaturas de las artes del mar que se estudiaban en la Universidad de Mareantes. Soportando el balcón se esculpen con aspecto de indios unos poderosos atlantes.
Es de un exuberante barroquismo. Está presidida por la imagen de Nuestra Señora del Buen Aire, de principios del siglo XVII.
La configuración de esta portada, tanto por su acertada composición arquitectónica como por su admirable sentido decorativo ha sido considerada como una de las piezas clave de la arquitectura española de esta época.
De su conjunto sólo el remate del tercer cuerpo no es original, pues al ser destruido éste al año de su realización por un rayo, fue reconstruido algo más tarde bajo una estética de corte neoclásica.

San Telmo's Palace is one of the most emblematic buildings of the baroque Sevillian architecture. It presents rectangular plant with several interior courts, one of them is the central court, towers in four corners, chapel and gardens.
In its main face stands out the magnificent front page of baroque style, which cost was 50.000 pesos. In it, framed by columns with figurative and geometric motives, it is observed in the top part the figure of San Telmo, saint of the navigators, flanked by the saints of the city: San Fernando and San Hermenegildo.
Slightly down below twelve women's figures appear: six to every side, which symbolize the subjects of the arts of the sea that were studied in the University of Sea. Supporting the balcony there are,  with aspect of Indians, a few powerful atlantes.
It has an exuberant barroque style. It is presided by the image of the Buen Aire Virgin, of beginning of the 17th century.
The configuration of this front page, both by his guessed right architectural composition and by his admirable decorative sense it has been considered one of the key pieces of the Spanish architecture of this epoch.
Of his set only the auction of the third body is not original, so when this one is destroyed to the year of the accomplishment by a beam, something was reconstructed later under an aesthetics of neoclassic court.
