En el primer tramo de la Avenida de la Constitución, acera de la izquierda, podemos ver un magnífico edificio que hoy pertenece al Banco de Santander pero que nació como sede del antiguo Banco Central.
El edificio fue construido en 1952 bajo proyeto del afamado arquitecto D. Vicente Traver.
Es curioso, este primer tramo de la Avenida de la Constitución se llamó anteriormente "Calle Génova", en honor a los comerciantes y banqueros genoveses que se habían instalado en ella.
Hoy en día no son genoveses, pero igualmente las entidades bancarias más importantes del país, incluida el Banco de España, tienen su sede en esta avenida.

In the first section of the Constitucion Avenue, left side sidewalk, we can see a magnificent building that today belongs to the Santander Bank but that it was born as headquarters of the former Central Bank.
The building was constructed in 1952 by the famous architect Mr. Vicente Traver.
It is curious, this first section of the Constitucion Avenue was called "Genoa Street" in honor to the Genoese merchanters and bankers who had established their banks in it.
Nowadays they are not Genoese, but equally the most important bank companies of the country, included the Bank of Spain, have his headquarters in this avenue.
