The Reservoir of Mercury is one of the most beautiful corners of the Sevillian Alcazar. There, in the middle of the reservoir, the figure of Mercury, made by Diego of Fishing and fused for Bartolome Morel in 1576.
Well then, the railing that surrounds the shelf and the four lions that support the shields of Castile and Leon in each of the angles of the above mentioned rail also were realized by them.
We can see the yellow gold that was covering them at that moment. Today they happen unnoticed to the visitors.

Ocho escenas costumbristas (2).

.

In a previous post we have referred to García y Ramos Roundabout, one of the most famous painters who was born in our city.
In this post we mentioned that there were eight scenes on ceramic pieces. Well today and tomorrow we are going to know these eight scenes in our blog.

The scenes reproduced in the ceramic are scenes copied of the pictures that the Sevillian painter did in his life. And his friends, who supported the creation of the place and the managers of creating these works of art on ceramics, rest in the banks that surround the fountain.

It is a building constructed with brick and with a common characteristic in the enclosure: all the signs are made in ceramic following theceramist  tradition  of the neighborhood.
Triana's Market is placed close to the river Guadalquivir, just after crossing the Bridge Isabel II. It is constructed on the historical ruins of the Castle of San Jorge.
In the main face we can see this ceramics with a typical print of the former marketing of foodstuffs between the inhabitants of the neighborhood.

.
In a Day of the Dead like that today it is impossible not to remember to Don Juan Tenorio's figure.
I am a follower of Zorrilla's work, every year in these dates I like to reread everything or part of this work.
Seville, as place where Don Juan Tenorio has his action, remembers him constantly with this sculpture that we can see in the Refinadores Square, but also in Dona Elvira's Sqaure, in Venerables Square (Inn of Laurel) or in the former Street of the Jet where it is said that Don Juan was born, all scenes of the life of this personage and who intervene with him in the Zorrilla´s book.
