En una de las zonas verdes de la rotonda que encarna el centro de la Gran Plaza, podemos ver este pequeño y sencillo monumento a Fray Serafín.
La placa que está bajo su imagen reza los siguiente: "Sevilla a Fray Serafín Madrid, estuvo con los marginados en su esperanza de justicia. Mayo 1982".
Fray Serafín murió el 26 de Septiembre de 1972 y dejó en Sevilla una profunda obra en favor de los marginados llegando a fundar la conocida asociación de "Teléfono de la Esperanza".
En su haber está la rehabiltación del Sanatorio de Nuestro Padre Jesús del Gran Poder, la creación de la Ciudad de San Juan de Dios y el impulso de la Formación Profesional especialmente en los marginados y los excluidos.
El monumento lo realizó Luís Álvarez Duarte y, en principio contó con la figura de dos niños (infancia desvalida y espereranza para la infancia) en la parte superior.
Desgraciadamente uno de ellos fue arrancado vandálicamente y aún no ha sido ni encontrado ni repuesto.

In one of the green spaces of the roundabout that personifies the center of the Great Plaza, we can see this small and simple monument dedicated to Monk Seraph.
