The Tower of the Perdigones was constructed in 1890 and formed a part of the factory of San Francisco de Paula. The Tower was used to produce losers of lead, the essential element together with the gunpowder to shoot a shotgun of fighter. The procedure was following, first the plates of lead were raised by means of a system of pulleys. Later, the lead was fusing in the boiler that one was finding in the top part of the Tower. Once the lead was fused, was left to fall down for the interior of the Tower, in order that it was cooling and in order that the metal was taking round form (thanks to the force of the gravity). The drops of lead were falling down in a swimming pool full of cold water, where they were hardening and rolling across a ramp on the outside.
In the middle of last century, the factory closes the doors and the only thing that remains in foot is the Tower of the Perdigones. After happening several decades left, the Town Hall constructs a park about the Tower and a viewing-point in the high point of the tower to enjoy the sights of the city from 45 meters of height.

  1. Fascinating history and description of the process. I'm kind of glad it closed as a factory. It doesn't sound safe. Must have a wonderful view of the city from that height.

What is that white structure on the right that looks like a razor?
